The area offers nature lovers activities like water skiing, pedal boating, fishing, playing tennis, cycling, walking and hiking through the forest and by the lake. Windsurfers appreciate the vivacious winds on Lake Joux, situated at an altitude of 1’000 m. In midsummer, the lake beckons for romantic swims with water temperatures that can reach up to 24 °C and lovely natural beaches.
During winter, you can enjoy cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, sledging and snowshoeing in the cool bracing atmosphere. For your convenience, there is also an indoor swimming pool, an indoor ice rink, a multipurpose hall as well as a weights room. As soon as winter temperatures allow the lake to freeze over, it turns into Europe’s largest natural ice rink.
From Geneva airport , at a distance of 70 km, take the motorway A1 direction Lausanne.
Arriving on the motorway A1 take the exit n° 11-Nyon between Geneva and Lausanne and continue direction St-Cergue. Pass the French border in La Cure, turn right and continue on the D415. Pass the Swiss border and follow direction Brassus, then Le Sentier and L'Abbaye.
For the less hurried and the more economical there is also the possibility to take the exit n° 12-Gland. Continue direction Begnins via the Col du Marchairuz as far as Brassus and follow then above instructions.
Arriving on the motorway A1 from Bern, continue, at the motorway junction n° 23-Essert-Pittet, direction Vallorbe. At the end of the semi-motorway follow the Vallée de Joux, then Le Sentier and l'Abbaye.
