Hotel Alpenhof is located in Oberwald, Switzerland, on the fringe of a forest and the famous cross-country ski trails. The village in the Upper Goms Valley, also known as the “Valley of the Sun”, lies at the foot of the Grimsel, Furka and Nufenen mountain passes.
From Geneva/Lausanne: take the highway N9 until Sierre. Follow the direction Brig and go on on the mainroad of the Goms Valley up to Oberwald.
From Zurich/Lucerne or Berne: take the highway N9 up to Sierre. Follow the direction of Brig and go on on the mainroad of the Goms Velley up to Oberwald. In summer, you can also take the pass of Grimsel (Grimselpass) or the pass of Furka (Furkapass) to reach Oberwald via the Bernese Oberland or the centre of Switzerland.
From Italy via/or from Ticino: Take the direction of Airolo via the highway N2, then take the Nufenen pass with its 2'478 metres! Attention: this pass is only open in summer. To reach Oberwald in winter, you have to take the Simplon pass (closed in case of massive snowfalls), or join up Andermatt by enjoying the piggyback services (car on train) through the Furka railway tunnel.
