The Riffelalp Resort 2222 m lies even higher than Zermatt and surrounded by beautiful Arolla Pine woods. The cog railway covers the 600-meter climb in 20 minutes and the Riffelalp Ressort is a world of its own.
Here, the Matterhorn and other impressive peaks lie at your feet and, on a clear day, you feel as though the world-renowned mountains are close enough to touch from your bedroom window!
The skiing area lies directly in front of the hotel - ski-in and ski-out, so to speak – and evenings, curling adds to the enjoyment. In the summer 400 kilometers of hiking paths invite guests to enjoy a stroll and tennis courts are available for the more energetic.
The journey from Zermatt is an adventure itself, and the Riffelalp can only be reached from Zermatt with the Gornergrat Bahn (cog railway). Trains travel every 24 minutes from 8.00 to 18.00, after which there are three additional trips.
Guests are chauffeured from the Riffelalp Station to the hotel with Europe’s highest-riding tram in the summer and in winter a shorter and flatter path leads through the beautiful Arolla Pine woods. Your cases are delivered to the hotel with a Skidoo snowmobile. In order to enjoy a smooth trip with no delays, we kindly ask guests to previously inform us of their travel plans.
